Explore - C O L O U R

This week for explore we are exploring how colour works. We have mixed together primary colour paints and dyed ice to make new colours, finger printed pictures, made colour bead patterns, a cut and paste rainbow collage, colouring in worksheets and painting games on the iPads! 

Team Work and Relating to Others

Some of our amazing learners were negotiating, problem solving, managing frustration and being creative when they 'went' to Brazil to play soccer today. They created and agreed on rules and roles while managing different personalities. Campbell even organised a huddle with some of the players to plan how to deal with the more dominant personalities, then executed the plan to ensure everyone had a fair share of game time. Someone got hit by he ball and was comforted by peers. Not once did they come and ask for teacher intervention. They proved to themselves how competent they are at managing themselves. The teachers were VERY proud. Well done boys!

Creativity and Relating to Others

Lots of children chose to visit America today and build a new and improved version of the Golden Gate Bridge. There was a great deal of oral language, negotiation, problem solving and explaining of ideas. The excitement at the awesomeness of there creation was inspiring! Some of our fabulous girls choose to persevere for the entire hour and a half on their project. Mia looked at the picture of the actual bridge as a basis of a plan and they even decided it wasn't a bridge without water around it! PROUD TEACHERS TODAY

Today we spent a lot of time talking about having a plan in our head before we started building. We also talked about communicating with our friends when we were building together so we were working as a team. Look at some of our great creations
